Last known Location: the Spinward Front in the Periphery Sub-sector of the Calixis Sector in the Segmentum Obscurus. He has supposedly taken transport above the Imperial vessel "Sinclair Absolution." Under Lord Admiral Joseph, with Lord Commissar Emily on board.

Capabilities: Cortez is a master survivalist with a keen understand of stealth, ambush and blitzkrieg tactics. Growing up in Armageddon, he is adept in both jungle and Urban warfare. Having limited insight on both basic machine spirit maintenance and proper litanies to repair his equipment.

On a separate note, a tale follows him of outrunning a squad of tyranids for over 8 hours while wearing only his left boot. This tale has not been confirmed, but Cortez has yet to have denied this event.

Notable Equipment:

Blood Helmet: The helmet can be broken down into three parts. The shell is the back piece (white), then the face plate and finally the mouth guard. Not much else is known about it, other than Cortez acquired it during a skirmish with some Eldar forces.
( OOC: It is of eldar origin and functions as a ghost helm with a built in re-breather unit on the mouth guard. Psykers and demons have a very hard time finding or targeting him with the warp.)

His armor is a very light weight, heavily modified storm trooper armor.  (Not a complete suit obviously.)

His plasma pistol is always by his side unless a superior officer asked him otherwise.

Synopsis: His regiment had been deployed the planet nexus in the Spinward front for the purpose of planetary defense. The planet was entering it's acceptance phase under the light of the Emperor. Random acts of violence were not un-heard of and were often quickly subdued. The first year of living on nexus was rough on all the guardsman some were the victims of violence and others seemed to seemed to vanish from the planet. Tasked by his commanding officer, Colonel Cortez lead a personalized squad into the hive world to investigate the disappearances. The search went on for many days and the evidence that had been gathered lead to a dark ominous truth. The world outside the imperial base had been corrupted and all servitors of mankind were being used for a plethora of purposes.
[Information about what furthered happened has been deemed inconclusive and is awaiting Imperial sanctioning.]

What is assured, is that former Colonel Cortez, has been cleared of any heretical behavior or manipulation. However, due to [redacted information. Deemed classified.] His services have been deemed unreliable.  All other Imperial agencies have been notified and will not dispense any equipment requisitioned by him to the best of their capabilities. He has been dismissed from the Imperial Infantry without pension.
